The Lap of Luxury
A software company that we use at work had their Users Conference this week at a 5-star hotel in town. Although we didn't get to stay at the hotel (because we're local.) I was fortunate to be one of a handful of people from my organization that was able to attend. It was interesting and exhausting, and I learned some great stuff that will come in handy at work.
But, most importantly, I believe spending a few days at a 5-star hotel has spoiled me forever to ordinary life. From now on:
Y I will expect a man to come open the door for me whenever I approach one.
Y I will expect a waitress to lay my napkin in my lap for me when I sit down at a table in their restaurant.
Y I will expect to eat delicious, nutritious, gourmet foods and the finest, freshest fruits at every meal. Prepared by someone else, of course.
Y I will expect to find a bottle of hand lotion next to the soap dispenser and terrycloth hand towels in every public restroom.
Y I will expect to spend my evenings sitting beside a lake, chatting with friends or reading a book, while swans gracefully float by and the sun sets spectacularly behind the mountains.
This is how life was meant to be lived.
