odd sighting

Today I saw a man with a braid down to his waist. That's not that unusual in & of itself. But it was this man's beard that was braided. His beard. That's something you don't see every day. I wished I had my camera.

I've been all caught up in the news story about the trapped miners in Utah. I really hope they find them alive. As I write, they're getting ready lower a camera into the hole that they've drilled into the mine. They're not even sure exactly where these guys are located. They should have miners wear GPS units...like the ones that out-of-bound skiers wear in case they get caught in an avalanche. I'm not sure how well those would work through miles of earth, but...just a thought.

Well, now they're saying that the press conference they had scheduled to announce what they found with the camera has been postponed indefinitely. But the mine officials were down visiting with the families. That doesn't sound good, does it? Dang it.
